What social group, whose presence is ubiquitous in every city, remains largely excluded from its privileges? What group can exist simultaneously inside and outside market economy, yet be intimately intertwined with the fabric of urban life? In an attempt to answer these questions, the documentary short, Phantom Couriers: Ghost in the Machine, tells the story of Vancouver's longest-running independent courier company, and simultaneously reveals a subculture that many are curious about, but few are able to access.
